BLEED Overview

The digital age can take your breath away, but mi$$-Eupnea can give it back. This lush new suite of audio-visual works and online events from acclaimed artist Hannah Brontë takes its name from the mode of breathing that occurs at rest – unconscious, unforced, meditative.

Assembly for the Future is a series of participatory digital gatherings in which the public create new visions for futures that may be realistic, idealistic or utterly fanciful. Their aim is to develop the practice of imagination, and collectively dream up multiple futures.

The sound of the Đông Sơn drum echoes the history of Vietnamese culture: now it’s in your hands. Whether you’re witnessing master performances on a 2,000-year-old instrument or weaving your own sonic tapestry via a library of digitised recordings of this fascinating artefact, you’ll discover how its story continues to resonate today.

Paeonia Drive is Angela Goh and Su Yu Hsin’s ongoing project exploring the intersection of live dance, installation and performance. Exploring nature, artificiality, beauty and horror, it invites you on a darkly scented night-walk through a garden with no exit.

Becoming the Icon is a film in which the language of power manifests in familiar yet uncanny ways. Echoing the rhythms of political speech and gesture, artists Lilian Steiner and Emile Zile reveal the ways in which truth and conviction are more than abstract concepts, instead finding surprising roots in our embodied experience.

BLEED Echo is a public program responding to and ricocheting from the five artist projects and curatorial conversations of BLEED.

Echo brings together a range of artists, thinkers and activists to interrogate the curatorial framework of BLEED. Through a series of artist conversations, live talks, writing commissions, podcasts and special projects, this public program will explore the relationship between live performance and the digital while also offering a profound consideration on how we come together online.
